How we work

More than finding a supplier.

Identify & source

Contact Foshan suppliers and manufacturers for product information, proposed finishes, quotations and lead times.

Check before shipping

Coordinate checks by the Guangzhou team for agreed colours, dimensions, quantities and supplied documentation prior to shipment.

Respond & coordinate

Help Australian clients clarify requirements quickly with China-based manufacturers and suppliers throughout procurement.

Australia & China

Local understanding.
On-the-ground coordination.

Based in Perth, PNT Global Sourcing connects Australian projects with manufacturers in Foshan. Our Guangzhou team coordinates sourcing, supplier responses and checks of ordered materials.

We help clients specify products against project requirements and request relevant testing and certification documents for review.

Australian Standards & compliance: Each product must be independently assessed for applicable Australian Standards, certification, approvals and suitability for its intended use. Supplier claims and pre-shipment checks alone do not establish compliance.
Our procurement process

From your drawings to
pre-shipment verification.

Practical coordination between Australian project requirements and manufacturers in China. Our Guangzhou team helps clarify specifications and check ordered materials before dispatch.

01

Review project schedules

Share drawings, dimensions, quantities, finishes and target delivery dates.

02

Source suitable manufacturers

We contact Foshan-area suppliers and seek product information, options and quotations.

03

Confirm specifications

Agree on samples, colours, dimensions, hardware and technical documents before ordering.

04

Coordinate production

Our Guangzhou office follows up on agreed quantities, production questions and supplier updates.

05

Check before shipment

Coordinate checks against the agreed schedule for product colours, sizes, counts and packaging; independent inspection where required.

06

Support shipping coordination

Help clarify packing lists and documentation with suppliers and freight providers. Freight arrangements depend on the agreed service scope.

Plan the total cost

Understand landed costs.

A factory quotation is only one part of the delivered cost. Before committing, consider the whole journey from the manufacturer to your Australian project.

  • Factory price and China domestic handling
  • Export packing, handling and freight
  • Marine insurance where applicable
  • Import duties, GST and customs clearance
  • Biosecurity inspections or treatment where required
  • Australian delivery and site unloading

Final costs depend on goods, incoterms, shipping method, destination and current regulatory requirements.

Technical documents & product suitability

Designed for Australian requirements.

Products sourced internationally must be evaluated for their intended use in Australia. We can request supplier documents and coordinate information for review by the relevant Australian professionals; compliance is product-specific and is not guaranteed by sourcing or visual inspections.

Windows & glazing

Request evidence relating to relevant window and glazing requirements, including AS 2047 and AS 1288 where applicable.

Plumbing products

Check WaterMark and WELS requirements for applicable tapware and sanitary products before ordering.

Electrical products

Check applicable electrical safety, RCM and relevant product documentation for LED mirrors and fittings.

Structural and finish materials

Review engineering, fire, durability, slip resistance and other relevant requirements for steel framing, panels, tiles and flooring.

Importing building materials to Australia

Compliance, freight and landed costs.

Buying overseas involves more than the factory price. Builders and importers should check product standards, independent test evidence, border requirements and the total delivered cost before ordering.

01. Relevant Australian Standards

Technical requirements depend on the product, application and National Construction Code. Common references include:

  • Windows and external glazed doors: AS 2047, with AS 1288 relevant to glazing.
  • Tiles: AS 3958 for installation guidance; tile product performance and slip resistance may require other relevant standards.
  • Structural timber: AS 1720 series for timber design, together with applicable grading and product standards.
  • Light-gauge steel framing: AS/NZS 4600 and applicable NASH standards and engineering requirements.
  • Electrical equipment: check applicable electrical safety approvals and Regulatory Compliance Mark (RCM) obligations.
  • Plumbing products: check whether WaterMark certification and WELS registration are required for each item.

Supplier certificates should be checked for authenticity, scope, testing laboratory and the specific model supplied. Independent assessment or testing may be needed.

02. Biosecurity and packaging

Australia's Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) enforces import biosecurity conditions. Check the BICON system for the exact product and packaging type.

  • Timber goods may need specific treatment or manufacturing evidence, depending on the BICON case.
  • Solid timber pallets and crates commonly require ISPM 15-compliant treatment or another approved option, with the correct declarations.
  • All cargo should be free of contamination; inspection or treatment can cause delays and charges.
  • BMSB seasonal measures run from September to April for specified goods, origins and vessel movements; China is not automatically subject to every targeted-country treatment rule.

Check the current DAFF BMSB rules before booking shipment.

03. Import duty, GST and anti-dumping

  • Some qualifying Chinese-origin goods may receive a preferential duty rate under the China–Australia Free Trade Agreement, subject to correct classification and origin evidence.
  • Australian import GST is generally 10% on the taxable importation value calculated under customs rules; concessions and exceptions may apply.
  • Anti-dumping or countervailing duties can apply to specific goods, including certain steel or aluminium products, independently of free-trade preferences.
  • Confirm the HS tariff classification, customs value, origin documentation and any trade measures before agreeing to a final price.

Use an experienced customs broker and check the Australian Border Force guidance.

04. Supplier checks and shipping

For Foshan and other Chinese suppliers, request company details, manufacturing capability, project references, quality-management information and relevant test reports. Factory audits and pre-shipment inspections can reduce risk but do not guarantee compliance.

  • LCL: smaller consolidated shipments.
  • FCL: full-container shipments where volume justifies it.
  • Review EXW/FOB or other Incoterms, freight, insurance, customs brokerage, port charges, local delivery and possible biosecurity costs.
  • Allow a contingency for delays, storage, handling and currency changes.

The final landed cost depends on the product, shipment, destination and agreed commercial terms.

General information only. Regulatory requirements and trade measures change. Seek advice from relevant certifiers, engineers, testing bodies, customs brokers and freight professionals for each shipment.

Common questions

Before you place an order.

Can I send architectural drawings and a bill of quantities?

Yes. Send available plans, schedules, dimensions, colours and quantities so we can clarify requirements with suppliers and obtain quotations.

How do you check the items ordered?

Our Guangzhou coordination team can compare agreed product colours, dimensions and quantities with supplied schedules before shipment, depending on the agreed inspection scope. Independent technical tests may also be required.

Are all products compliant with Australian Standards?

No blanket assurance can be given. Requirements vary by product and application. Certificates, reports, approvals and technical suitability must be assessed for each item before it is used in an Australian project.

Can you arrange samples before a bulk order?

We can discuss requesting samples and finish approvals from suppliers before production. Availability, charges and freight for samples vary.

What is the total price including freight?

We can discuss the supplier quotation and identify the other costs that need to be included, such as freight, insurance, clearance, duties, GST and local delivery. A final quotation depends on the project and service scope.
